PRACTICE MAKES A PROFESSIONAL!

You might leave the training feeling that you won’t have time to review everything we learnt, let alone start the reading list. A small amount of time to refresh might be just what you need to really land your facilitator style.

You have already invested quite a bit of time and effort just by attending facilitation training, so why not make the most of your new skills and knowledge?

Here’s what you can do:

  • Use your tools for work meetings. Review your training materials weekly and think what else you could use to make meetings more engaging and efficient.
  • When you see groups facing cooperation challenges, offer to facilitate. They will be grateful and you will get the practice that supports your journey.
  • Offer your services where possible.Think about who can benefit from your new skill-set and don’t be shy about using your knowledge. Same as point above? How about: Competence builds Confidence – don’t be shy about using your knowledge and trying new things – just a 10% stretch builds strength and new patterns.
  • Make time to Reflect. It will help you digest your experiences and embed new skills. Reflect with a peer and/or use written reflection including your online Learning Record.
TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES COMING UP

  • Our four-day online training in co-coaching not only provides further training but also means that you can join a network of facilitators, offering free support for one another with the confidence of a shared approach and grounding. Co-Coaching Skills builds on the core. More here.
  • You also have an opportunity to add Gestalt Informed Facilitation to your repertoire by attending our 3 hour workshop (Making Use of Zen and the Fertile Void – for managers and professional facilitators) with AoF board member, Professor Paul Barber.
