RE-ACCREDITATION

Self-directed CPD (Continuing Professional Development)

Accreditation with AoF lasts for three years. AoF’s re-accreditation process is straightforward and is designed to promote self-regulation and to encourage ongoing professional and personal development. CPD is largely a self-directed activity, however support and contact points are available throughout the process.

In order to become re-accredited, participants are required to

  • during each of years 2 and 3, attend a minimum of either

…or provide evidence of comparable CPD activities. Comparable means that you would set aside dedicated time, away from your daily work, to engage in dialogue with other facilitation professionals, at your accreditation and experience level or above, where there is a specific focus on you: your practice, your development, your competence, your learning edges, your future development. There should be a tangible output, such as written notes, feedback, updates to your learning journal, or a new offering or direction or perspective (not just planning for an event). In addition, reviews of books that you have read, seminars that you have attended, and insights into how you are developing as a facilitator should be incorporated as part of your evidence for professional development.

If in any doubt contact us to check equivalence in advance.

  • Prior to your accreditation expiring in year 3, review and update your previous application to ensure it reflects any change in focus of practice, any competencies that have been developed/consolidated and to record key insights and learning. This is a short reflection exercise, and a simple consolidation and editing process that should take no more than 1-2 hours, assuming you have tracked your learning.
  • Prior to your accreditation expiring in year 3, submit your updated application to us and arrange for a support call prior to your re-accreditation interview which can be online.
  • On successful completion, your accreditation is renewed for three further years, and subject to you meeting the requirements above and in our Code of Practice.

If you wish to apply for accreditation at a higher level, you should choose our Practitioner Accreditation Process.
