March update from the Association of Facilitators

With spring approaching, we wanted to share a few reminders and opportunities to stay connected with the AoF community over the coming weeks. We also wanted to share a reminder about our Practitioner Accreditation, which has come up in several recent conversations with guest members.

A note from the AoF team

We’d like to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you and goodbye to Ashleigh, who is stepping down from her role as Office Manager. Ashleigh has contributed hugely to the smooth running of AoF, and we’re very grateful for all the care, organisation, and commitment she’s brought to the role.

We’re pleased to share that Emily will be stepping in temporarily to cover the Office Manager role. Many of you will already know Emily through her work as AoF Community Manager, and she’ll be supporting the team alongside that role over the coming months.

Theatre of the Oppressed – Learning Day

16 March, 2026, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, Central London

(A short walk from Paddington Station)

An experiential Learning Day exploring Augusto Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed techniques and how they can support facilitation practice in complex contexts.

This session was thoroughly enjoyed by participants when we ran it in October, and there are still a few spaces available. Do take a look if this feels like something that would be useful or interesting for your work.

Games People Play – Online Learning Lab

26 March, 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm

All groups experience ongoing shifts in how people relate to one another. In this Online Learning Lab, we’ll explore core ideas from Transactional Analysis — including scripts, roles and the drama triangle — and how these dynamics show up in facilitated groups. We’ll look at how greater awareness of these patterns can help move groups (and facilitators) away from drama and towards empowerment, supporting healthier group dynamics and more effective facilitation practice.

This is an interactive, facilitated session offering both reflective space and practical insights to apply in your work. Find out more and book a place here.

Practitioner Accreditation – a reminder:

Over the past month, we’ve had several conversations with guest members about our Practitioner Accreditation, so we wanted to share a brief reminder about it.

Our accreditation offers skilled and experienced facilitators the opportunity to consolidate their practice at one of three accredited levels. The process is developmental and reflective, providing structured support, personalised feedback, and a valuable professional checkpoint.

If accreditation feels timely for you, or you’d like to explore whether it might be the right next step, we’re very happy to talk it through. You can read more here. Please do get in touch if you would like to explore it further together.

You can explore all upcoming events and book your place via the calendar on our website.

We do have bursaries available for those who need support. Please reach out to us to find out more.
