SUMMARY:Handling Emotions
DESCRIPTION:As facilitators and leaders we are aware that our ability to handle human emotion plays a significant part in our professional practice. Emotions often arise in groups\, and part of the facilitator’s role is to handle such responses well enough for the group to move forward. This is enabled by the facilitator’s awareness of their own emotional state\, and by regulating their own responses well. \nIn recent years the concept of Trauma Informed Leadership has come to the fore\, encouraging the need for psychological safety in teams\, and awareness building among leaders. \nIn this Learning Lab we will take time to explore the practice of handling emotions\, our own responses and those of others. We will consider how to contract\, build safety\, and how to enquire into emotional energy. \nInvariably this session causes participants to reflect on their own emotions.
